Travelling with kids

1. Infant (INF)

Bamboo Airways offers to carry infants who are at least fourteen (14) days old, but less than two (2) years old. Each infant must be accompanied by an adult above eighteen (18) years old. For the safety of children, Bamboo Airways does not transport children under 14 days of age or children who must be kept in a glass cage due to premature birth or health reasons.

Note: For infants who are from 24 months old, the 2-way flight shall apply to the child fare. The birth certificate for infant must be presented upon check-in to verify the passenger’s age.

ACCOMPANYING WITH INFANT

– Accept INFANT with normal health condition, mature birth. If the infant’s health is abnormal or premature, it is necessary to confirm the health before the flight

– Bamboo Airways only accepts infants aged from 14 days, and refuses to carry infant under 14 days of age.

– Infants are only accepted to carry with their companion. Bamboo Airways does not accept the unaccompanied infant.

– Infants are not allowed to sit in a separate seat, but must sit in the lap of their companion

– Each adult can only travel with 01 infant . Bamboo Airways does not accept 1 adult traveling with 2 infants.

– Conditions for the accompanying person:

+ From 18 years old (as of the departure date of the flight)

+ They are not passengers requesting special service such as WCH, BLND, DEAF, PREG, the ones who must confirm their health before flight… (except for passengers booking special meal service on-board). Maximum infant per flight shall be limited by aircraft type

2. Child (CHD)

Bamboo Airways offers to carry children aged two (02) to under twelve (12) (under 12th birthday) on the departure date of each segment.

TRAVELLING WITH CHILD

– Maximum number of acceptable children on flights: unlimited

– Accompanying person can go with the following number of infants and children:

  + 01 infant và 01 child under 6 years old, or

  + 02 children from 02 to under 06 years old, or

  + Child from 06 years old: unlimited.

– Conditions for the accompanying person:

  + From 18 years old (as of the departure date of the flight).

  + They are not passengers requesting special service such as WCH, BLND, DEAF, PREG, the ones who must confirm their health before flight… (except for passengers booking special meal service on-board).

3. Unaccompanied minor (UM)

Bamboo Airways offers Unaccompanied Minor Service for children aged from six (02) to under twelve (12) years old (before the 12th birthday) as of the departure date of each segment, or traveling alone in the cabin.

Passengers unaccompanying with parents/ guardian/ adult (from 18 years old as of the departure date of the segment) on a flight with the same flight number and class of service.

4. Young Passengers Traveling Alone (YPTA) service

Bamboo Airways offers Young Passengers Traveling Alone (YPTA) service for children aged from 12 to under 14 years old (before the 14th birthday)as of the departure date of each segment, or traveling alone in the cabin.

Passengers unaccompanying with parents/ guardian/ adult (from 18 years old as of the departure date of the segment) on a flight with the same flight number and class of service.

– UM is only accepted on  connecting flight segment if the connecting time is less than 6 hours

– Fee shall be charged to passengers booking the UM / YPTA / accompanying cabin crew service.

– UM service under 6 years old is not accepted at the airport.

1 attendant can accompany with a maximum of  1 UM.
UM: From 4 to under 6 years old Unlimited – Only for economy class.

– Only for booking accompanying cabin attendant service.

1 attendant can accompany with a maximum of  2 UMs

UM: From 6 to under 12 years old

YPTA: From 12 to under 14 years old

Unlimited. For business class: number of UMs do not exceed 10% of total Business Class seats for each flight (rounded up). – For both economy and business class

– Booking accompanying cabin attendant service is not compulsory

Unlimited number of UM/YPTA accompanying with 1 attendant. 

REQUIRED DOCUMENT FOR UNACCOMPANIED MINOR

– 03 copies of letter of authorization (to be kept at the booking office, Bamboo Airways representative at the airport and in the UM transport document)

– 05 copies of the transport slip for unaccompanied minor – hereinafter referred to as “UM transport slip”: 3 copies for PVMD company at 3 airports (departure, connection, arrival) to be kept; 2 copies of the transport slip for cabin attendants to be kept on 2 flights.

– UM transport documents.

– Health certificate (if passengers are required to confirm health before flight).

– Travel documents of UM and other documents as specified by the authorities at the relevant airports.

NOTES FOR ACCEPTANCE OF UNACCOMPANIED MINOR

– Upon making a reservation, UM is only accepted for transportation if the minor’s Parent/ Legal Guardian is picked up at the destination or connecting point.

– Prepare a transport slip of unaccompanied minor and/ or an agreement of responsibility which clearly states that the parent/ guardian / authorized person signed the above forms at the point of receiving request.

– Direct information for parent / guardian / authorized person

  + The person bringing child to the departure airport and the child must be present at the departure airport at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight.

  + The person taking child to the departure airport completes all procedures before the flight for the child and awaits until the aircraft takes off before leaving the airport.

  + The person picking up child at the arrival airport must be presented at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.

  + The person transporting / picking up child must present identification document with correct information registered in the transport slip.

– If the information declared at the receiving place of the request (medical information, accompanying person, other information …) is not true at the airport, the passenger will be refused transportation. Bamboo Airways shall not be responsible for any incurred costs due to this refusal of carriage.

– Cases have not booked UM service and requested to serve at the airport, at that time, the chief representatives at airports will check the acceptance conditions, based on the target passengers and the actual situation at the airport to make a decision to accept or refuse to carry.
