Bamboo Airways has entered significant agreements ahead of launching the Vietnam – Singapore route and promoting its international flight network. 

February 16, 2022 – Singapore. Bamboo Airways inks Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on CFM56-5B engines maintenance worth $60 million with SR Technics – the world’s leading MRO provider (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul). The signing ceremony is held within the framework of Singapore Airshow, under the witness of high-ranking dignitaries and business representatives of two countries.

This movement will create opportunities to promote the value and power of the highest standards of support solutions in the aviation ecosystem. Particularly, the agreement allows both parties to explore areas of cooperation including CFM56-5B engines, training services, technical services, and component requirements and repair. By signing the MoU, SR Technics and Bamboo Airways establish a long-term partnership.

Commenting at the ceremony, SR Technics CEO Jean-Marc Lenz said: “We are thrilled to welcome Bamboo Airways as a new SR Technics customer and look forward to meeting and exceeding their expectations. I am pleased that with this MoU we will further our commitment to provide best-in-class MRO services in the aviation world. We look forward to the future development of our partnership. This will impact the growth and strengthen Vietnam’s competitive position in serving the worldwide aviation MRO industry.”

On the same day, Bamboo Airways and Boeing enter an agreement on 4 digital solutions for its entire fleet, which will continue to help Bamboo Airways drive efficiency and reduce operating costs. Digital analytics solutions allow airlines to operate with the utmost safety, information accuracy and reduce possible risks.

In addition, Bamboo Airways has discussed with Boeing and expressed interest in purchasing the latest fuel-efficient wide-body Boeing 777X, in an attempt to expand its presence in Europe, Australia, and especially the US.

Promote international flight network

As global aviation is bouncing back to the pre-pandemic level, Bamboo Airways has shown drastic actions to effectively operate international routes, thus meeting the increasing travel demands and contributing to the economic rebound.

“Adding to the fortification and expansion of Bamboo Airways’ fleet, the cooperation with international partners will lay a solid foundation to promote our crucial routes in the future. This is also a stepping stone to expand our intercontinental flight network bridging Vietnam with medium and long-range markets,” said Nguyen Khac Hai.

These agreements are the important preparation of Bamboo Airways for its Vietnam – Singapore route and international network expansion in 2022. The airline plans to operate the Vietnam – Singapore route from March 24, from S$ 108/ticket (all-inclusive). In the context of air travel rebound, Bamboo Airways is determined to explore potential markets, aiming for 40 international routes in 2022.

Since January 2022, Bamboo Airways has conducted regularly-scheduled flights to Northeast Asia countries such as Taiwan, Japan, Korea, etc. Regarding other markets, the airline will officially operate routes HCM City – Melbourne from February 19, Hanoi – Frankfurt from February 25, HCM City – Bangkok from March 17, Hanoi – London from March 22. Besides, Bamboo Airways is gearing up its preparation for the launch to Laos, Cambodia, and especially the U.S in the future.
