On January 8th, 2019, Bamboo Airways received the Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC), proving that it has met the requirements of aviation authorities and affirming its practical capacity in ensuring the safety of flight and service exploitation.

As for now, in parallel with the careful preparation for exploitation standards, Bamboo Airways has also consolidated its human resources, technology, material conditions, etc.

“Our plan is to make Bamboo Airways become the first choice of all customers. We have prepared the best conditions to bring them comfortable and satisfying experience,” said Ms. Duong Thi Mai Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of Bamboo Airways.

Bamboo Airways has officially entered the aviation market with AOC certification, after a thorough appraisal process. Can you talk more about this?

We have overcome numerous challenges to achieve the standards, from improving skills of flight attendants, pilots and officers, standardizing the training of maintenance personnel, operating testing flights to ensure safety and service standards to actively improving the technology.

Especially, before receiving AOC, Bamboo Airways has been awarded Active Operations Management (AOM) by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.

In order to receive AOC certification, Bamboo Airways staff had to work with their highest spirit, intellect and enthusiasm. I believe that receiving AOC will be a good and important start for Bamboo Airways.

Many people are curious about Bamboo Airways’ promotion policy for customers to affirm its difference in service quality. What would you like to say about this?

We truthfully hope to introduce the best service to our customers with great attractive incentives. In the near future, many attractive policies are going to be launched. In particular, combos at special prices, including air tickets and accommodation to serve the growing travel needs in Vietnam.

How can passengers find out about these incentives?

Bamboo Airways ticketing system will be officially activated at 12:00 pm on January 12, 2019.

Passengers can visit the website www.bambooairways.com to search for the desired itinerary with a very reasonable full fare. Transaction steps on our website is minimalized so that passengers can book tickets as fast as possible.

If you need to travel from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang or to other tourist destinations in Vietnam such as Quy Nhon, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh, etc., you can find out the information about flight network on Bamboo Airways’ website.

Passengers can also call Bamboo Airways’ hotline (19001166) for timely assistance with the purchase of additional check-in baggage, seat registration, etc.

Popular payment gateways such as NAPAS, VnPay, Military Bank (MB) mobile banking app have also been integrated for customers to easily make payment.

For passengers who want to buy tickets via the agent system, they can come to nearly 1,000 agents that have signed contracts with us.

In QII/2019, additional e-services such as check-in via mobile phone, QR Code, or check-in via electronic kiosks at the airport will also be deployed.

Is that the specification of the strategy “more than just a flight” of Bamboo Airways?

That’s it. We are specifying this strategy. In terms of commerce, attractive ticket prices or the flexible exploitation of incentives are actually a part of the strategy.

We believe that commerce includes a wide range of activities such as offering in-flight retail services, advertising in-flight brand cooperation, together with in-flight meal suppliers creating Vietnamese cultural and trendy dishes to satisfy customers, and especially announcing the unique loyal customer programs before the takeoff date.

Bamboo Airways will offer different  service classes (classes of service?), with the main ones including Bamboo Eco (Economy Class), Bamboo Plus (Flexible Economy Class), Bamboo Business (Business Class), all with the same hot meals and other offers for customers.

From March to June 2018, the Airline signed two agreements to buy 44 A321neo and 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft worth USD8.8 billion from two main international partners, Airbus and Boeing.

With the purchase of 20 new aircraft from Boeing, it is expected that the first wide-body aircraft will be handed over to Bamboo Airways by the end of 2020, which is the basis for the Airline to deploy the Bamboo First Class (First Class), confirming the premium service quality of the only airline in Vietnam with first class cabin.
