Bamboo Airways Gained Permission to Operate More Routes

On January 22, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Dinh Viet Thang announced the decision of granting permission for Bamboo Airways to exploit more routes to local airports including Cat Bi, Van Don, Lien Khuong, Con Dao, etc. from major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh in a meeting with the Carrier’s representatives.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has permitted Bamboo Airways’ aircraft to fly to Cat Bi, Van Don, Lien Khuong, Con Dao, etc.
On January 22, 2019, the delegation of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam had a work trip to Hanoi visiting Bamboo Airways’ office.
After the report of Director General Nguyen Ngoc Trong on the first flights’ operation, leaders of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam stated that Bamboo Airways had complied with the requirements of the authorities to ensure aviation safety and security.
“Over the past few days, we have recorded a lot of feedback from the customers about the Airline’s service from ground attendants to flight attendants. We are thrilled that Bamboo Airways has launched successful and safe commercial flights,” said Mr. Dinh Viet Thang – Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
Mr. Thang also affirmed that the Civil Aviation Authority will continue its support for the Carrier in flight operations.
Director General Dinh Viet Thang also granted permission to Bamboo Airways to exploit routes connecting major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh to local airports including Cat Bi, Van Don, Lien Khuong, Con Dao, etc.
“Granting flight permit to Bamboo Airways to these airports will not only increase the number of exploited routes of the Airline, but also facilitate economic development of the country,” Mr. Dinh Viet Thang said.
In response to the remark from the leader of Civil Aviation Authority, General Director of Bamboo Airways Dang Tat Thang pledged to maintain and develop the Airline to become the pride of the aviation industry of the nation as well as the region, turning Vietnam into one of the countries with the safest flights in the world.
On January 16, Bamboo Airways officially operated the first commercial flights, while welcoming Airbus A321neo to its fleet, implementing the plan of adding a new generation of aircraft within a few months.
As planned, Bamboo Airways is expected to operate routes linking major cities and popular tourist destinations in both Vietnam and the world in 2019.
In the near future, the Carrier will operate 8 routes with 26 flights to meet the rising demand in Tet holiday. The domestic flights are expected to connect Hanoi – Quy Nhon, Hanoi – Nha Trang, Hanoi – Dong Hoi, Ho Chi Minh – Quy Nhon, Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi – Buon Me Thuot, Ho Chi Minh – Van Don, etc.
In 2019, Bamboo Airways will launch flights with its wide-body aircraft to many international destinations in Asia like Japan, Korea, Singapore, etc. and Europe.
To implement this plan, from March to June 2018, Bamboo Airways signed two agreements to buy A321neo and 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft worth USD 8.8 billion from two giant international aircraft manufacturers: Airbus and Boeing to expand its flight network.
