Travel Advisory

Bamboo Airways only carries per sector transport, unless passengers have a connecting itinerary from one international flight to another international flight which all segments operated by Bamboo Airways. If you have connection(s) with any other flight(s) of another carrier(s), after disembarking from your arriving flight, you must clear Customs and Immigration, collect your checked baggage (if any), and then proceed to the relevant departure hall to check in for your connecting flight.

You must hold a valid passport, visa and other travel documents (if required) to be allowed entry into each destination on the flight itinerary, including transit (if applicable). Please note that you are responsible for complying with all travel requirements to enter your intended destination and transit country. Not required. However, four (04) rapid test kits will be given to arriving travelers aged 2 and older by workers at international airports/ports upon arrival. When to use rapid tests:

  • On the day of arrival or the first day of the self-initiated prevention period (D0/D1).
  • Arriving travelers should take a rapid test and produce a negative result within two days before going out during the self-initiated prevention period.
  • Symptoms develop during this period.
  • The test results will not be recorded. Arriving travelers should follow the Self-initiated Prevention Guidelines if they test positive with a rapid test.

5. Quarantine Requirements

Not required. However, a seven-day period of self-initiated prevention will be required.

– All passengers, fully vaccinated and not fully vaccinated,have to present a valid visa or an approved Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA). Applications are to be submitted using the K-ETA website. Travelers must apply for the K-ETA at least 72 hours prior to boarding a flight or ship bound for Korea.

2. Forms and Applications

– All passengers, fully vaccinated and not fully vaccinated, have to complete the Questionnaire, also available on the Fast Track portal, before departure or on arrival. More details can be found at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

– Passengers may now pre-register via Fast Track for airport quarantine procedures using the Visit Japan website. They can pre-register the COVID-19 test certificate or the Vaccine Certificate, and the Questionnaire, to complete the arrival procedure smoothly at Japanese airports. More information can be found on the Fast Track portal.

3. Health Insurance

Not required. Medical expenses in Japan may be high. Travelers are recommended to have travel insurance covering possible emergencies or hospital care.

4. Covid-19 Test Requirements

4.1. Before arrival

a) Fully vaccinated passengers

  • Fully vaccinated passengers do not have to present a negative COVID-19 test result.
  • Passengers must present proof of vaccination showing 3 doses. Passengers must ensure that they meet the requirements to be considered fully vaccinated.

b) NOT vaccinated/ NOT fully vaccinated passengers

All not vaccinated and not fully vaccinated passengers have to submit a certificate with a negative COVID-19 test result.

– Test types accepted:

  • Test Method: Nasopharyngeal(swab/smear), nasopharyngeal (NP) and oropharyngeal (OP) Rhinopharyngeal (swab, smear), Nasal swab, saliva.
  • Test Type: PCR, LAMP, NEAR, RT-PCR, Next Generation Sequence, quantitative antigen (CLEIA/ECLEIA), Smart Amp, TMA or TRC test.

– Test window: Taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.

– Languages accepted: English or Japanese.

4.2. Upon arrival

Passengers suspected of COVID-19 infection are tested upon arrival, and have to undergo quarantine at a designated facility if tested positive.

– Not fully vaccinated short-term visitors aged 13 and above must have travel insurance for their COVID-19-related medical treatment and hospitalization costs in Singapore, with a minimum coverage of $30,000.

4. Covid-19 Test Requirements

4.1. Fully vaccinated passengers

4.2. NOT vaccinated/NOT fully vaccinated passengers

Option 1: Negative test result 

  • Test type accepted: PCR or antigen
  • Time window: within 2 days before departure.
  • Applicable age: Travelers 13 years and older.
  • Languages accepted: English or any other language accompanied by an English translation.
  • All other COVID-19 tests must be taken at an internationally accredited or recognized lab/clinic/medical facility and must include: The date the test was taken; The passenger’s name; The date of birth or passport number.

Option 2: Medical proof of prior COVID-19 infection

  • Test result: positive PCR or antigen test result.
  • Time window: the test must be carried out more than 14 days and less than 90 days before the flight.
  • Applicable age: Travelers 13 years and older.
  • Languages accepted: English or any other language accompanied by an English translation.

From 08/01/2023, the Temporary Policy on the entry and exit of Chinese and foreign citizens with some notable adjustments is as follows:

1. Entry Requirements

Here is who can travel to China right now:

  • Chinese citizens.
  • Foreign nationals with a valid visa issued outside the Mainland of China after 28 March 2020.
  • Foreign nationals with a permanent residence permit
  • Foreign nationals with diplomatic, service, courtesy, or C visas.
  • Foreigners holding valid APEC business travel cards (Virtual ABTC excepted) are allowed to enter China with the associated passport.
  • Foreign students holding valid Chinese study residence permits.
  • Passengers with a residence permit issued by China for work, personal matters, study and reunion purposes.

2. Health Insurance

3. Covid-19 Test Requirements

Remote testing: Persons wishing to enter China need to take a PCR test within 48 hours before departure, have a negative result to enter, do not need to apply for a health code from the Chinese Embassy abroad but must fill in the test result on the card applying for a customs entry health code. If the result is positive, the entrant needs to wait for a negative result to enter the country

Quarantine upon entry: Remove the requirement for PCR testing for all passengers entering the country. Persons who have a valid health declaration according to the quarantine regulations of the customs authority at the border gate will be allowed to enter the country without quarantine. People with invalid health declarations, signs, symptoms of fever … will be conducted antigen tests by customs authorities. Positive, mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic test cases can be isolated for treatment at home, in isolation or self-treatment, other cases must go to a medical facility
