GENARAL

1. Who provides my BambooCARE cover?
The BambooCARE cover is specially designed for Bamboo Airways by Baoviet Insurance Corporation with your needs in mind.

2. What is my insurance coverage under BambooCARE?
You may refer to BambooCARE Policy Wording for a full description of the terms, conditions and exclusions of cover.

3. What is my insurance coverage under BambooCARE?
(1) Domestic: a trip undertaken by an Insured Person commences at 00.01 a.m. on the day of the scheduled journey prescribed in certificate of insurance;
        International: a trip undertaken by an Insured Person commences three (3) hours before the scheduled time the Insured Person leaves the place of embarkation in Vietnam to the scheduled destination(s) overseas prescribed in certificate of insurance.
(2) The cover for Trip Cancellation benefit commences twenty-four (24) hours from the purchase date of the Insurance for Scheduled Flight.

4. Do I need medical examination to purchase BambooCARE?
No, a medical examination is not required. However, please note that claims arising from PreExisting Medical Conditions are excluded.
“Pre-existing Condition” means any injury, illness, condition or symptom:
a) for which treatment, medication, advice or diagnosis has been sought or received or was foreseeable during the twelve (12) months prior to the commencement of the journey.
b) Which was known or unknown to you to exist prior to the commencement of the journey whether or not treatment, medication, advice or diagnosis was sought or received.

5. Can I still purchase BambooCARE policy if I have a Pre-existing Condition?
Yes, you can. However, there are exclusions on Pre-existing Conditions as stated in the policy’s full Terms and Conditions.
“Pre-existing Condition” means any injury, illness, condition or symptom:
a) for which treatment, medication, advice or diagnosis has been sought or received or was  foreseeable during the twelve (12) months prior to the commencement of the journey.
b) Which was known or unknown to you to exist prior to the commencement of the journey whether or not treatment, medication, advice or diagnosis was sought or received. 

6. Can I pay extra to cover pre-existing medical conditions?
No, there is no option to pay extra to obtain coverage for pre-existing medical conditions.

7. Can I amend my BambooCARE policy?
You are allowed to amend your BambooCARE policy only if you are allowed to make changes to your flight itinerary. There is no premium incurred for name or travel itinerary that is within the same trip duration. You need to pay the premium difference if you extend the trip. However, the premium is non-refundable if you shorten the trip. We will email a new Certificate of Insurance to you.

8. Can I cancel my BambooCARE policy?
No, You may not cancel your BambooCARE policy after you had opted in for the policy.

9. Is BambooCARE premium refundable?
No, The Premium is non-refundable. Except when your flight is cancelled by the airline and no alternative flights provided to you.

10. Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?
No, you don’t need to carry a copy of your Certificate of Insurance.

11. Am I required to carry any additional documents to proof my purchase when I am traveling?
No, your purchase confirmation is printed on your Bamboo Airways travel itinerary.

12. Where should I indicate my nominee for receiving benefits?
You don’t need to indicate a nominee for your BambooCARE policy! Personal Accident benefits paid due to a fatal accident will be made to the estate of the Insured while other benefits are paid directly to the Insured.

13. What happens to my BambooCARE policy if Bamboo Airways reschedules my Return Flight to a later date?
Your BambooCARE Return-Trip Plan is automatically extended to cover you up to a maximum of 3 days without additional charges or surcharge if your Return Flight is rescheduled by Bamboo Airways to a later date.

14. What is the maximum coverage period offered under BambooCARE policies?
We offer coverage based on the travel itinerary booked and coverage period does not exceed 180 days.

15. What is the cost per person for BambooCARE policy, if my purchase of the BambooCARE is for more than one person under the same Travel Itinerary?
You may calculate the cost per person as follows:
Total Premium* divided by Number of Persons**
*Please refer to your Travel Itinerary
** Subject to Age Limit Condition i.e. must be at least 14 days old and not exceeding 85 years of age.

16. Where can I obtain the full terms and conditions of my BambooCARE policy?

PURCHASING

1. How do I purchase a BambooCARE policy?
You can purchase a BambooCARE policy online when you book your flight(s) at bambooairways.com.

2. Can I purchase a BambooCARE policy after booking my flight?
Yes. You can purchase the policy via Bamboo Airways Booking Management before your departure.

3. Can I purchase a BambooCARE policy if I am not a resident of the Vietnam?
Yes, as long as you are a Bamboo Airways passenger departing from Vietnam.

4. Can I purchase a BambooCARE policy if I am traveling for more than 180 days?
No, All Return Plans for BambooCARE are valid up to 180 days from the Departure Date.

5. Can I purchase BambooCARE policy for One Way coverage if I purchased a return flight ticket?
No, your BambooCARE Policy is based on your Bamboo Airways Travel Itinerary, if you’ve purchased a return ticket, BambooCARE will cover you for your return trip.

COVERAGE

1. If a natural disaster occurs in the country that I plan to visit, and I have purchased a BambooCARE, am I entitled to cancel my Journey and make a claim?
No, BambooCARE Policy does not cover any voluntary trip cancellations due to natural disaster. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for more details.

2. Does BambooCARE policy cover Professional Sports and other similar activities?
No. BambooCARE does not cover Professional Sports and other similar activities. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for further details.

3. Can I cancel my flight for any reason and get a refund through my Trip Cancellation Benefit?
No, The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for the reasons stated under the Terms and Conditions, namely unforeseen emergencies such as illness, injury or death involving you and/or an immediate family member.

4. Does my Baggage and Personal Effects Benefit cover theft?
Yes, BambooCARE covers theft and damage due to attempted theft as long as it occurs during your trip.

5. Are gifts and articles purchased during the Journey covered?
Yes, they are covered, subject to the Terms and Conditions of BambooCARE policy.

6. Am I covered under the BambooCARE policy if I ship my baggage home prior to my scheduled return trip to save costs?
No. Unaccompanied baggage will not be covered.

7. Can the sum insured for baggage and personal effects covered under the BambooCARE policy be increased?
No, there is no option to increase the sum insured for any benefit under the BambooCARE policy.

8. What shall I do if I encounter an accident abroad?
Please call BambooCARE’s 24-hour Emergency Assistance numbers: +84.3399 30639. It is important that you call this number for more details before you take any action. As for outpatient treatment, please retain all original receipts and submit them for claim upon your return to Vietnam.

9. Can I continue with my medical treatment for injuries sustained overseas when I return home?
Yes, you can continue your treatment as long as the initial treatment is received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 1 month after the expiry of your BambooCARE subject to the Schedule of Benefit limit in BambooCARE policy.

10. If I need treatment for an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical, hospital or any other related expenses?
Yes, you can claim for your sickness-related medical expenses under BambooCARE policy.

CLAIMS

1. If the Customs Department were to confiscate anything from me, could I make a claim under the BambooCARE policy?
No, cover for claims arising from confiscation by authorities is excluded.

2. How do I file a claim?
You may submit your claims online. Please click here to make your submission.

3. How long does it take before my claims are processed?
Your claims will be processed within 7 working days after you have submitted all the required documents.

4. What is the time limit for me to file a claim?
All claims must be filed to Baoviet Insurance Corporation within 30 days of the completion of the relevant Trip together with all supporting documents.

5. What shall I do if I disagree with a claim decision made?
BambooCARE will advise you in writing of your rights to appeal against a claims decision and the procedures for filing an appeal with Baoviet Insurance Corporation.

6. I am not a resident of Vietnam. How do I get my claim reimbursement?
You may opt to receive your reimbursement via bank draft or telegraphic transfer. Kindly be advised that any cost, charges and/or fees in relation to overseas bank remittance and/or issuance of bank draft in respect of the settlement of your claim shall be borne solely by you.
