Connecting domestic and international flights

1. Definition  

a) Passenger having connecting journeys of Bamboo Airways between international and domestic flights is a passenger who arrives by one international flight and continues his/her journey on a domestic flight operated by Bamboo Airways.  

b) Passenger having connecting journeys of Bamboo Airways between domestic and international flights is a passenger who arrives by one domestic flight and continues his/her journey on an international flight operated by Bamboo Airways.  

2. Principles of application 

– Only applicable for connecting itineraries between flights operated by Bamboo Airways through one of Hanoi (HAN), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), Da Nang (DAD)  

– Only applicable for connecting itineraries with same-day connecting time (arrival time of arrival flight and departure time of departure flight on the same day)  

– Only applicable for passengers with connecting journeys on the same booking code (PNR)

4. Rules for free baggage allowance and Excess baggage  

– Free baggage allowance: subject to main international route (main routing)  

– Excess baggage: Collect fee once at the departure airport for entire itinerary according to international fee.

Travel documents 

At the departure airport: Passengers are requested to present valid travel documents as per the entry requirements of the transit point (Vietnam).   

At the departure airport: Passengers are requested to present valid travel documents for whole journey.    

Boarding pass  

Passengers departing from Narita (NRT), Incheon (ICN), Melbourne (MEL), Sydney (SYD) airport: Passengers will be checked-in through for both BAV flight sectors and be given 2 boarding passes corresponding to 2 flight sectors   

Passengers departing from Singapore (SIN), Bangkok (BKK), Taipei (TPE), Frankfurt (FRA), London Gatwick (LGW) airport: Passengers will be checked-in to the connecting airport and will get the boarding pass for the next flight at the domestic check-in counter at the connecting airport. 

Passengers will be checked-in to the connecting airport and will get the boarding pass for the next flight at the international check-in counter at the connecting airport.   

Baggage 

Baggage will be checked through to the final destination. At the International Terminal of the transit point: Immigration Procedures at the transit point are required. After completing immigration procedures, passengers receive their checked baggage at the baggage conveyor belt and complete customs procedures for baggage, then hand over their baggages to the ground handling staff   

Passengers departing from Hanoi (HAN), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), Phu Quoc (PQC), Con Dao (VCS): Baggage will be checked through to the final destination. Receiving baggage at the baggage conveyor belt is not required.   

Passengers departing from other domestic airports in Vietnam: Baggage will be checked only to the connecting airport. At the domestic terminal of the transit point: passengers receive their checked baggage at the baggage conveyor belt and then move to the international terminal for procedures to check-in for passengers and baggages. 

Procedures at connecting airport  

Passengers prepare all valid travel documents as per the entry requirements of Vietnam.  

After handing-over baggages to ground handling staff, passengers will move to the domestic terminal:  

  • For passengers who have had boarding pass for the next flight: passengers proceed to the boarding lounge area for the next flight sector.  

  • For passengers who have not had boarding pass for the next flight: passengers proceed to the check-in counter for getting boarding pass for the next flight sector.  

Passengers prepare all valid travel documents for Immigration procedures of their journey.  

Passengers departing from Hanoi (HAN), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), Phu Quoc (PQC), Con Dao (VCS) airport: passengers proceed to the check-in counter at the international terminal for getting boarding pass for the next flight sector.    

Passengers departing from other domestic airports within Vietnam: passengers receive their checked baggage at the baggage conveyor belt, then move to the international terminal to check-in for the next flight sector.

At destination airport  

Passengers receive their checked baggage at the baggage conveyor belt   

After completing Immigration procedure, passengers receive their checked baggage at the baggage conveyor belt.
