Bamboo Airways Introduces Charter Routes to Fukushima and Launches General Agent for Charter Flights in Japan

“The launch of the General Agent for charter flights in Japan is an important premise for Bamboo Airways to set up it routes connecting Vietnam and Japan, strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries,” said Ms. Duong Thi Mai Hoa – Bamboo Airways’ Vice Chairman and Deputy General Director.
On June 28, in Japan, the Press Conference introducing the flight route to Fukushima and launching the General Agent for the charter flights of Bamboo Airways in the Japanese market was held with the participation of Mr. Uchibori Masao – Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, Ms. Duong Thi Mai Hoa – Vice Chairman and Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways, the representatives of Vietnam – Japan Services and Trade Company Limited (VJSC), Vietnam Travel and Marketing Transports Joint Stock Company (Vietravel), and Bamboo Airways’ partners.
Promoting Vietnam – Japan routes
At the press conference, Ms. Duong Thi Mai Hoa – Vice Chairman and Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways officially introduced VJSC as the General Agent for Bamboo Airways’ charter flights in Japan.
VJSC is a large-scale and prestigious enterprise, the official representative on the promotion of famous Japanese tourist cities such as Fukushima, Ibaraki, Wakayama in Vietnam, with the deep experience in tourism exploitation in Japan and Vietnam, and the great support for Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises in exploiting destinations, creating the diversify and novelty of tourism products.
At the event, Ms. Duong Thi Mai Hoa expected that with the large scale, prestige and wide network of partners, VJSC – the new General Agent will maximize its role of connecting charter flights of Bamboo Airways to the Airline’s partners and customers in Japan.
“The launch event of VJSC – the General Agent for charter flights in Japan will also be a premise to carry out Bamboo Airways’ routes connecting Vietnam and Japan to meet the increasing travel and trade exchanging demand of the two countries’ people, strengthening the cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in a wide range of fields,” said Bamboo Airways Vice Chairman.
Meanwhile, the VJSC’s representative expressed that it was very important for VJSC to become the General Agent for Bamboo Airways charter flights in Japan since it stated the high trust and strong cooperation between the two parties, in which VJSC focuses on developing markets, and Bamboo Airways provides safe and quality flight services. With this connection, VJSC believed that customers in the Japanese market would be satisfied with the services offered by Bamboo Airways and VJSC.
Japan – a key destination
Also within the press conference, Bamboo Airways officially introduced its charter flight route to Fukushima Prefecture. This is a land of beautiful natural landscapes which are perfect for tourism, and the industry here is developing very fast. Fukushima is also a locality where a large community of Vietnamese people are studying, living and working.
Appreciating this plan, Mr. Uchibori Masao – Governor of Fukushima Prefecture said that Vietnam and Fukushima had shared an inherent good relationship.
“I am very happy to know that from November this year until May next year, even until the Olympic 2020, there will be Bamboo Airways flights connecting Fukushima with Vietnam. This is a factor to tie the relationship between the two countries,” he said.
Representatives of Fukushima Provincial Government and Governor Uchibori Masao committed to pay attention and fully support Bamboo Airways and businesses for the general development.
Earlier, in April 2019, Bamboo Airways officially launched its charter flights to Ibaraki, a popular tourist city near Tokyo. Then, the Airline also put into operation the routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Okinawa, a beautiful island in southern Japan.
Bamboo Airways charter flights have helped Japanese and Vietnamese people conveniently travel, save time and have good flight experience at a reasonable price. These new air routes have also received good feedbacks from numerous agents and tour operators in Vietnam and Japan.
According to Japan’s figures, the number of Vietnamese tourists coming to Japan reached nearly 390,000 in 2018, at the top growth rate in Southeast Asia. On the other hand, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism’s announcement showed that the number of Japanese tourists coming to Vietnam reached 826,000 in 2018, ranking second in ASEAN.
By June 2019, Bamboo Airways has carried out nearly 10,000 absolute safety flights, the average load factor is 90% and the OTP rate is approximately 95%, leading the entire aviation industry in Vietnam for 5 consecutive months.
In order to serve the international flight plan, Bamboo Airways is accelerating the process of completing its fleet according to the orientation of standardization, expectedly reaching more than 30 aircraft by 2020, including Airbus A321neo and Boeing 787 Dreamliner models. It is expected that the first wide-body aircraft will be handed over to Bamboo Airways by Boeing in QIV/2020. Earlier, in order to serve its operation, Bamboo Airways was planning to lease aircraft from its partners, proceeding to put Boeing 787–9 aircraft into operation this year.
