The government officially approved the establishment of Bamboo Airways

On July 9, 2018, signing on behalf of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung officially allowed the establishment of Bamboo Airways, based on the proposal of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the consensus of relevant ministries.

Before that, FLC Group and Bamboo Airways have signed a contract on purchasing 24 A321NEO aircrafts with Airbus in France witnessed by the General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in March 2018, and a contract on purchasing 20 Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners with Boeing in the United States witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue in June of 2018, besides outsourcing, to establish the cabin crew and to prepare the take-off plan by the end of 2018.

According to Mr. Dang Tat Thang, the General Director of Bamboo Airways, Bamboo Airways is positioned as a “hybrid” airlines, a combination of traditional low cost airlines, to offer services that meet a variety of needs.
